When it came to my last payment on my car. I called and was told that my account was closed and yes my car was paid off.

I asked about getting the title and was told to wait 30 days. Then I received another bill for a payment. When I called I was told that my account number was changed and I have a payment due. I asked what the payoff is now and nobody knows and I asked to speak with a supervisor.

I was put on hold and no one came to the phone.

I have not received any communication from them and they are being very secretive about this account. I really dislike them.

Product or Service Mentioned: Tidewater Motor Credit Auto Loan.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $30000.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

I didn't like: Not helpful.

After I have read so many negative comments, I will save my time in calling TideWater.


This is an update to my complaint about Tidewater Motor Credit not communicating with me and withholding my vehicle title. I sent numerous letters to any address that I could find for this company and three months later a customer service manager called me to fix this problem.

I paid the final payment and they sent my title to me as promised.

I will not get into car payments with anyone anytime soon. So this vehicle is headed to a mechanic for a complete overhaul; so the car will last longer.
