My car was repossessed by Tidewater, they resold the car and got $8,000 for the car. I set up a payment arrangements with them to pay what I could afford on the balance due which is was around $10,000 after they resold it.

I have in writing from them the agreed payment arrangement between them and me. Not even a year into the payment arrangement they started harassing me to pay more and I told them I can't. Now they're calling my employer and lying and saying that they are calling for verification of employment to see how much I make.

THESE ARE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE UNDER HANDED PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH!!!!!! I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy

Reason of review: Problems with payment.

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

I thank God for the internet and for these reviews. I was just about to call them and see about getting a car financed thru them.

However after reading all of your stories, I have decided not to deal with this company and just wait it out.

Public Transportation is looking real good right now. lol I know its not much consolation to you but you can take comfort in the fact that you have saved another soul from the fire that is Tidewater.

yes they are calling your employer to verify what you make because that's the next step when you owe a finance company is GARNISHMENT. so that's whats going to happen next.

people don't understand that when you sign a contract you are committing that you will be responsible with your payments. but when you make your payment late get behind and you wonder why its all happening. then you say you cant keep up with the vehicle. and want to give it back.

the company has to sell it to an auction to pay for the loan that you were not able to keep up with. its not their fault. its yours. You weren't responsible to maintain your payments, nor smart enough to notice how much your minimum payment is.

they approved you for a loan you needed. so stop being dumb and realize this is your fault you got into this mess. stop blaming others for your mistake.

the company has nothing to do with this. once the garnishing starts don't be mad.

My car was also repossessed and I'm going through the same situation. Tidewater sold the car and now asking for the residual amount.

Okay so now I have no job. Can you believe they are trying to wage assign my measly unemployment benefits!

This company has been horrible to deal with from day one. Do Not Use this company!!!

you're an *** stop blaming this company, its not their fault you cant keep up with your payments nor be smart about it. thats why youre in this mess.

make your payment on time and red the contract, who cares if its long, its tells you everything you need to know. so dont act *** and just be responsible for once!
